This small update brings a few new things for the image generators ahead of April Fools’ Day and some newness to the toy section.

X-Men – Children of the Atom Vs. portraits: Beast and Cable (Jim Lee and Scott Williams). Beast’s was 100% redone even though it uses the same JL & SW art I used to make his custom MSH portrait.

GFX Generators: the new portraits were added to the generators.

Toyboss: Added quite a few shots of Jada Toys Akuma (that action figure was worth the wait), one of Vega and 3/4ths SFII Shadaloo group shot, and a few surprise pics. A “Sega (Jakks) gallery was finally added as I do more to sort these pics out before I start redoing how the section works. A specific pre-order I was hoping to work into this update didn’t happen yet, so I’ll have to wait on that one.

There’ll be a bit more added soon, either to this update or the all-new one for April 1st.

It’s March 10th, and that means it’s Mario Day again! Today’s update adds a few new Mario pixels to go along with January’s Mario-heavy update.

Custom Sprites – Mario series: a new Mario sprite in his Super Mario Bros. 2 idle stance.

This year’s first update added my remake of the SMB2 Player Select stage as its own screenstyle to the main image generator, but I wanted to add something special today that’d work as background choices in the usual screenstyles (Group, Vs., MvC ending, etc.), and this tribute to Super Mario Bros. World 1-1 seems like the perfect choice. It’s a work-in-progress piece you may have seen earlier versions of in things I’ve posted before (like the Mar10 graphic I’d post on social media), but now there’s dithering in the sky shading, the ground was redone (drew one ground tile, made a flat repeating version, warped it with PSP X5, did additional work), drew a cloud and used that as a base for the bush in the pic, and finally drew the ?blocks. I have more plans for that background, so don’t be surprised if it’s updated later.

The Kickstarter campaign for Deadly Metropolis, the long-awaited beat-em-up, is on now, and here’s the trailer:

The game is being led by Mr. Din, beat-em-up community legend whose game brawling knowledge and skills have been proven time and time again, and you don’t get a special thanks in Streets of Rage 4 for nothing. He’s done a lot for the community and I hope other fans come through for his project. My pledge is already in there!

Arcade Quartermaster’s new shrines of the month are Guilty Gear XX Reload, Ninja Gaiden III (Playchoice-10), and The Crystal of Kings

Stay turned, there’ll be another small update in March, including another toy section update! Meanwhile, here’s one of those vague teasers I like to do to prove that I’m working on other things.
