Sonic Blast Man (snes)
200x100 GFX Company: Taito
Genre: Beat 'em up
Released: USA: 1992 JPN: 1992
From the intro:
THE HERO OF JUSTICE HAS ARRIVED FROM A PLANET FAR AWAY TO PROTECT THE EARTH. HIS NAME IS... SONIC BLAST MAN
Each of the five stages is like a stand-alone issue of a comic book with it's own setting, enemies and begins with a sentence describing the mission. While the drones appear a lot in the stage, they don't reappear in later stages.

Sonic Blast Man originally appeared in a punching novelty game in arcades where you had to punch a pad in real life in order to end various threats. The strength of your punch in real life determined how much SBM would hit the person, place or thing in the game. Some of the challenges in that game appear in this game in bonus rounds.

The female enemies from the Super Famicom version were replaced with male characters for the Super Nintendo version. A female martial artist in loose clothing was converted to a male martial artist in a similar outfit but the women in dresses from Stage 1 were completely replaced with martial arts thugs that were nothing like the character they replaced.
