So you want to accurately convert lifebar info (damage, recovery, number of lifepoints) from your favorite game to a Beats of Rage format instead of just pulling some random number straight out of your butt? What a great idea! Seeing as how the Senile crew made the lifebar 100 pixels long, it's incredibly easy to do if you know the damage percentages. 16% damage = 16 pixels. There. Done. But what if you're getting info from a game where there's no percentage info? Here's what you do: divide 100 by the number of pixels in the lifebar in the original game. If your original game has more than 100 pixels in the life bar, then the number should be smaller than 1. If it's shorter, then it should be a bit more than one, including decimal points. Now, every value that you get from your original game should be multiplied by this new number.

I'm also going to make a quick referene guide here with certain games precalculated. This chart will change as new games are added, since the chart has begun with one that I made for Final Fight's values. Of course, all pixel values are rounded up to the nearest whole number.

While measuring the damage values is a good idea to correctly mimic the original game or just get a general idea of the character's attack damages, don't be a total slave to the numbers. If a character just isn't working the way you want in your mod, modifiy the numbers. It's your game! Just don't change them so drastically that the attack feels untrue to the flavor of the original game. Remember: fighting games and beat-em-ups are two different gaming styles, so the damage values may not work for you. A little tweaking may be needed for those.
