Rolling Thunder 2 (arcade)
200x100 GFX Company: Namco
Genre: Platformer, Shooter, Run and gun
Released: USA: 1990
From the game's intro
In 199x, orbiting satellites of many countries were mysteriously destroyed, one after another. Information was cut off and the world fell into chaos. While investigating the problem, WCPO discovered a diabolical plot. The evil gang known as Geldra, which was once destroyed, has now resurfaced and become active again. Thus, the battles of Special Agent Rolling Thunder begin again.
Albatross was the original main character in the first game and Leila Blitz was the unplayable, captured agent he had to rescue. The evil, terrorist organization determined to rule this game's world is called Geldra in the introduction, but is spelled Gerdra on the game flyer. This resurrected version of the group is also referred to as Neo-Geldra. The main drones in the game have the same names they had in the original game: Maskers. Most of the other drones have names with the word Masker in it.

Note: The enemy names of everyone who isn't Gimdo were translated with some old, small scans of the Japanese Mega Drive cart I saved from the 'net in 2004 or 2005 (probably from Bloody Serpent's late, great Rolling Thunder tribute site) and the Japanese version of the Wii VC page of the game. I used a combination of the Compact Nelson Japanese-English dictionary and copying Katakana unicode from Wikipedia and pasting it into Google Translate. So, you know, don't take these translations as gospel.
