Avengers (arcade)
200x100 GFX Company: Capcom
Genre: Beat 'em up
Released: USA: 1987
From the flyer (as seen at The Arcade Flyer Archive):
Story:
Ryu and Ko learned that their hometown, "Paradise City", had been over run by "Geshita" and his men. Hostages were taken to Geshita's palace. Ryu and Ko decide to run Geshita and his men out of the city and restore peace and honor.
Like 1986's Trojan, this is another Capcom game starring a man named Ryu who fights people in the streets, but isn't the street fighter. The Ryu in this game even has a special spinning kick attack, but it's done by pressing both the punch and kick button at the same time much like Final Fight. Another thing this game shares with Trojan is a post-apocalyptic ruined world setting inspired by the Mad Max and Fist of the North Star/Hokuto no Ken series.
